    The effects of capital markets authority on Uganda’s securities exchange market performance case study: Uganda stock exchange market .

    The study was focused on capital markets authority and its role on the growth of Uganda stock exchange. It was conducted in Uganda securities exchange located in Kampala district. The study aimed at establishing the role of capital markets authority to the Uganda securities exchange. The study employed both quantitative and descriptive approaches and the population included departmental staffs and customers out of whom a sample of 30 respondents was selected. The researcher used two methods to collect data. This was interviewing and questionnaires which made the researcher to complete his study in the most convenient time possible. Findings of the study indicated that there is good capital markets authority function at Uganda securities exchange limited reflected in effective communication, teamwork, transparency and accountability. The study concluded that Uganda securities exchange limited is making progress in strengthening innovativeness and flexibility and increased access to capital markets liquidity. Its recommended in this study that the management of Uganda securities exchange devise means of mobilizing savings for investment, promote corporate, governance, create investment opportunities for small investors and give employees equal chances to fully participate in decision making process regardless of their level of education.
