    Constraints on access to primary school education in Kamwimbi Zone Igambang'ombe Division, Meru South District-Kenya

    This study investigated the constraints on access to primary school education in Kamwimbi Zone of Igambang’ombe Division in Meru South District, Kenya. Based on descriptive survey, the study used both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. The data for the study were obtained through the use of school records, questionnaires, interviews and observations. Questionnaires were administered to head teachers, teachers and standard 8 pupils of Kamwimbi Zone. The study was analyzed using simple percentages, frequency distribution tables and mean statistics to answer the six questions posed by the researcher. The study found out that some children in Kamwimbi Zone have not accessed primary school education as expected. Thus it is recommended that Kamwimbi community must put up strategies to enroll all their children to school. This study also recommends that the Government as well as teachers and parents should ensure that all school age going children are no longer made to go to farm but take schooling as priority in Kamwimbi Zone.
