It was aimed at finding out the effects of child labour on children's welfare; the law and policy in Makindye division - Kampala District. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used in the study. Appropriate research questions were developed and pre tested in order to find out the effects of child labour on children's welfare in Makindye division - Kampala District. The researcher addressed objectives which included To identify the different forms of child labour, to identify causes of child labour and the effects of child labour in Uganda Makindye in particular. Using sampling, the researcher selected 50 respondents and data was collected with the use of questionnaires and interviews. The respondents were interviewed ranging from the working children to the local leaders. It emerged that child labour in Makindye is still prevalent despite the political legal and administrative structures set up to combat it. The common forms of child labour include domestic labour, commercial sexual exploitation, and manual labour. The causes of the persistence of child labour were poverty; parents drive their children into child labour and orphan hood. The research paper has been presented in five chapters each chapter with definite areas of coverage.
