Abstract: The study investigated the effect of poor health on academic performance. The study was guided by specific objectives that included; identifying the cause of poor health, the effects of poor performance on academic performance and the relationship between poor health and academic performance. The study was descriptive and analytical in nature where purposive sampling was used to select population. It employed 60 respondents. Data were analysed and presented using frequencies and percentages and were tabulated. The major findings of the study were; most of the respondents were males, causes of unemployment are technological advancement, solutions to the causes were poverty, drought. Effects were mental agility, mental disorders and illness. And the relationship included daily attendance and negative relationship.
