Abstract
The study sought to establish the role of team building and service delivery in Public Institutions and was driven by Five objectives: That is investigating the range of services delivered by K.C.C, review the existing strategies employed by K.C.C, examine the relationship between team management and quality of social service delivery, Identify the challenges facing team Building and service delivery in K.C.C and explore the possible solutions of how to improve team building and service delivery in K.C.C. To achieve these objectives the researcher sampled 60 respondents from K.C.C and their clients. The study utilized qualitative research methods, two data collection instruments were used: Structured questionnaire and focused group discussions. The collected data was presented in tabular and analyzed statistically to decipher findings. The major finding of the study was that there is relationship between Team building and service delivery. The study indicated that team building can facilitate the City Council in providing quality service delivery. The major recommendation is that the employees of K.C.C sign Performance Contracts, in order to manage public resources and create a management accountability framework. This will help Manage public resources by focusing on processes and inputs rather than on output results and holding public servants accountable in case they fail to deliver.
