Abstract
The study investigated into the impact of environmental protection management on sustainability of National Parks in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The study was guided by three research objectives: to assess the reasons and achievements accruing from environmental protection management on sustainability of Virunga National Park, establish the constraints affecting the 16 implementation of environmental protection management on sustainability of Virunga National Park, and the third one was to evaluate the way forward on how environmental protection management can be improved to promote National Park sustainability in Virunga National Park. Questionnaires and interview guide were used as a tool to gather this data from 120 respondents including of environmental stakeholders, Virunga National Park illegal users and community members. Descriptive and explanatory research designs which allowed a researcher to explore and describe a phenomenon in its real situation and measure incidence rates and prevalence rate.
