Abstract
This research report was ~i~en as a requirement for the partial fulfillment for the award of a bachelor’s degree of arts with education of Kampala International University. This study was mainly aimed at investigating the effects of motivation on the performance of secondary school teachers, Nansana Town Council as a case study. The objectives of the study were to investigate their effects of motivation on the performance of secondary school teacher in Nansana town council and the specific objectives of this study were to find out the effect of intrinsic motivation on the performance of teachers, to examine the effect of extrinsic motivation on the performance of teacher, to find out other factors affecting performance of teachers. Through carrying out this study I also used same research questions to find out what I exactly wanted such as What are the effects of intrinsic motivation on performance of teacher, what are : the effects of extrinsic motivation on performance of teacher, what are the factors that affect : performance .The findings further showed that motivation was necessary for high performance of teachers although in most cases teachers were poorly motivated.
