Abstract
Despite of the importance of Formal education as a foundation for the country’s development for increased number of literacy people in the country, the Ministry of Education spends less than three percent of its budget on this sub—sector. ~1he General objective of the study was to determine the impact of formal education on the level of civilization. The research study was conducted between March 2015 and may 2015. The study was carried in Napak district in northern parts of Uganda. The swdy was intended to benefit the people of Napak district since their well being is advocated lbr in the study. The study also forms a basis for future researchers who may research on a related topic and equip the researcher with knowledge about formal education in Uganda. The community is to benefit from the study in a way that they will understand the importance of ftrmal education and understand that it is the basis for future development and modernization of the society. The government should have a clear policy in place that focus on the impact of formal education on the level of civilization and also put them in practice. This will curb primitiveness and incompetence’s of cultural leaders in advice to development that will reduce the level of cattle rustling, early marriages, and curb the problem of un lawlessness’ in the region.
