Abstract
The purpose of the study was to establish the relationship between implementation of universal secondary education and girl child enrollment in government aided schools in Nansana municipality in Wakiso district. This study was based on three objectives namely; to investigate the reasons for implementation of Universal Secondary Education in Universal secondary schools in Nansana Municipality in Wakiso district, assess the impact of universal secondary education on girl child in Nansana municipality in Wakiso district and establish the challenges to implementation of universal secondary education in government aided secondary schools in Nansana municipality. The study employed a descriptive correlation design that is based on the variables of study which were quantified into numerical data to explain, predict and control phenomena of the study. The research population in this study was 150 respondents. The researcher used self administered questionnaires for all the participants. It was recommended that government should embark on fueling poverty alleviation programmes, increase teacher’s remuneration, sensitize the community about the urgency of education The study indicated that there was a significant relationship between the implementation of universal secondary education and girl child enrollment in government aided schools in Nansana municipality Wakiso district.
