It was established that pupils who are indiscipline were likely to perform poorly in school and also drop out of school and 45% of the respondents agreed to that. 75% of the respondents agreed that teachers who are well paid perform better than those who are underpaid. 89% of the respondents agreed that lack of enough reading and learning materials is a hindrance to pupil’s academic achievement. The study recommended that the government and policy makers should identify the reasons why pupils perform poorly in school and devise means to iron out the problem. Teachers should be included in plans to improve on the academic performance of pupils because they contribute greatly to the achievement of a child.
