Abstract
Job satisfaction is one of the most widely discussed and enthusiastically studied constructs in such related disciplines as industrial-organizational psychology, organizational behavior, personnel and human resource management and organizational management. Recent research statistics has shown that job satisfaction as a discipline is cuffing across all sectors of the economy. Kenyans cannot afford to complacent about it, thus their arise an immediate need to conduct an investigation on the issue of job satisfaction among the teachers in particular to see its effects on their performance performance. The study adopted a Descriptive research design. This enhanced the researcher to obtain a better understanding of the role and impact of job satisfaction on performance of female students in Dandora primary school, Embakasi Division, Nairobi. The method chosen allowed a collection of comprehensive and intensive data and provided an in-depth understanding of the topic under study. Questionnaires were used to collect data and after responses were made they were edited for completeness and consistency across the respondents and to locate omissions. Information obtained from the research study was presented and analyzed using bar charts, narratives, and statistical figures. The findings indicated that job description leads to employee motivation which in turn leads to efficiency of the female employees in the school. It was further found out that management of the school do not adequately describe the jobs of the female teachers and this has a bearing effect on their performance. Female teacher again face challenges on their jobs which arise due to poor job description, little guidance among other factors. It was concluded that organizations do not communicate to employees on what they are meant to do in regard to their jobs and it recommended that such organizations should clearly describe jobs to employees in order to improve their attitude towards their jobs and make them more efficient
