Abstract
The title of the study was Organizational Culture and Dropout Rate of Learners in Nandi Central District Primary Schools. The study sought to determine the relationship between organizational culture and pupils drop out rate in Nandi central district. It was guided by these four objectives; (i)to determine the profile of the respondents in respect to age, gender, level of education and type of school ii) Determine the level of organizational culture iii)determine the level of pupils drop out rate, iv) the significant relationship between the extent of organizational culture and level of pupils’ dropout rate. The study sample was 231, consisting of all teachers in the 8 selected schools Using a descriptive correlation survey design and expostfacto, the study found out that there is satisfactory level of organizational culture, there is also very low levels of dropout rate in the primary schools in Nandi Central District. The findings showed no significant relationship between the extent of organizational culture and the level of learner’s dropout rate. Based on the findings of the study, the following are recommended; that for the adaptation of schooling institutions to better respond to the needs of all learners, including discipline and attendance policies that maintain high standards without alienating students from schools, scheduling adaptations that accommodate learners needs, smaller school communities, and more challenging and engaging class work.
