Abstract
The study established the impact of contract Monitoring systems on service delivery in Mpigi district Local Government, the study was guided by three specific objectives and these were; (i) to determine the level of contract Monitoring systems in Mpigi district Local Government, (ii) to establish the level of service delivery in Mpigi district, and (iii) to examine the relationship between Contract Monitoring systems and Service Delivery in Mpigi District Local Government. Cross-sectional research design was used because data was adapted by this study and was used to establish the significant effect between variables in order to fulfill the research objectives. The findings indicated that; the level of contract Monitoring systems in Mpigi district Local Government was rated satisfactory, the findings indicated that service delivery was low in Mpigi district Local Government, the finding still indicated that contract Monitoring systems has a significant relationship on service delivery in Mpigi district (r-valu=.495). The researcher concluded that; that setting of appropriate work supervision during contract Monitoring systems can lead to the improvement in service delivery since it increases on the quality and efficiency during service delivery, service delivery can be improved once work verification and certification such as open tendering is effectively applied, there exists a positive significant relationship between contract Monitoring systems and service delivery in Mpigi district Local Government. The researcher recommended that; Mpigi district Local Government should develop an effective work supervision system, and this will help to cater for issues surrounding delivery dates, contract compliance, and customer service issues can be resolved internally before going out to contract, Mpigi district should address the use of appropriate verification and certification by primarily basing on the stipulations of the procurement legal framework, this will help to explain the rationale for the inclusion of key components in the solicitation document, elaborating on how these components work together to make the process effective within Mpigi district Local Government.
