Abstract
The research on corruption as a correlate of effectiveness in the education sector was done in Katoogo Parish, Nama Sub County Mukono district. The main issue was to find out manifestations of corruption, causes of corruption in the education sector or schools for that matter and the relationship between corruption and the effectiveness of the education sector.The participants in the research were teachers who were administered questionnaires to and the data was analysed using frequency distributions and percentages. The main findings were that corruption existed in Katoogo parish, Mukono district due to a number of reasons and that there is actually a relationship between corruption and effectiveness in the education sectors. In the research, eradication of corruption can be done by increasing teacher salaries for a bigger take home pay, reporting of corruption cases and publicizing of the money received from government so as to allow transparency.
