Abstract
This study is about private secondary education project planning and sustainability in Bosaso Puntland Somalia. The objective of the study was to examine whether private secondary schools carry out project environmental analysis, needs assessment planning and resource identification during the planning process and its influence on project sustainability. The study employed a descriptive correlation research design on a population of 77 subjects consisting of private secondary school director/board of directors, head teachers and teachers. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire and the data was inputted into SPSS and analyzed using graphs, mean, standard deviation, correlation and regression as deemed appropriate. The study found that private secondary school projects did not effectively carry out macro and micro project environmental analysis, project needs assessment and project resource identification. The study equally found low financial, technical and managerial sustainability among private secondary school’s projects. The prevailing project environmental analysis, needs assessment and resource identification practices had a significant relationship with the prevailing private education project sustainability. The study concluded that there is a significant relationship between project resource identification, needs assessment, resource identification and sustainability.
