Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the girl child education in Nasir Combining primary school located in the Upper Nile state The specific objectives of the study were to determine whether the Socio cultural and Religious Factors affect the academic performance of girls in Nasir Combining primary, to determine whether the School Environment affect the academic performance of girls in Nasir Combining primary; and to determine if school facilities affect the students’ academic performance to determine whether the Situational Barriers affect the academic performance of girls in Nasir Combining primary. The methods used for data collection were interview guides to learners, teachers and head teachers of the schools involved in the study. In chapter four, the findings were presented and interpreted in relation to the study objectives and research questions. Based on the findings it was observed that there are so many factors affecting the education of girls in Sudan. In chapter five, development of solutions to the problem, summary of the findings and conclusions were attempted. The findings suggested recommendations that free education up to the secondary level would promote women
