Abstract
The study sought to find out the impact of just in time on organisational efficiency in Uganda Baati Limited and was driven by four objectives. These objectives include, to find out the elements of just in time, the elements of just in time, to know how the concept of just in time 1s implemented, to determine how the concept of just in time 1s implemented, and to know the challenges faced in the implementation of just in time. To achieve the objectives, the researcher sampled fifty (50) respondents from Uganda Baati Limited. The researcher used the quantitative research methods; three data collection tools that is, questionnaires, interviews and observation. The data collected was presented in table forms and analysed statistically. The researcher was guided by four research questions. The first question was to find oul what the elements of just in time were. This revealed that certain elements must first come to place for just in time to begin flowing, secondly, the question sought to find out how the philosophy of just in time is implemented. After the considering the elements, it is important that certain issues have to be considered in guiding how the concept can be implemented. Thirdly, the research question wanted to find out what benefits are gained from the use of just in time in an organisation. The study found out that more benefits are gained as compared to mass production and other traditional methods of production. The last question was to find out about the challenges faced when an organisation is implementing just in time. Just like the human life is faced by numerous problems, so is the concept of just in time. So many challenges are faced from financial to support.
