Abstract
This study is a critical analysis on the Jaw of juvenile delinquency in Uganda. The research addressed the problem that despite the numerous Jaws available in Uganda regarding juvenile delinquency such as the provisions in the 1995 Uganda Constitution / The Children’s Act Cap 59/ The UN /Convention on the Rights of the Child The Domestic Violence Act 2010 among others/the law has not been followed by the dot and thus creating loopholes and un effectiveness which the research sought to solve. The research objectives included critically analyzing the law relating to juvenile of delinquency in Uganda/ to examine the legal framework and institutional legal framework of juvenile delinquency in Uganda/also to examine the international legal framework on juvenile delinquency, to find out the factors contributing to juvenile crime in Uganda as well as to suggest the possible recommendations to relevant recommendations to relevant institutions in Uganda and conclusions. The research questions arising out of the problem were that what are the legal and institutional framework on juvenile delinquency effective0what are the international legal framework on juvenile delinquency effective 0 what are the factors contributing to juvenile crime in Uganda? and what are the possible recommendations to relevant institutions in relation to juvenile delinquency in Uganda? The research further used the doctrinal legal research methodology which includes analyzing primary and secondary document~ the primary materials include statues and Acts like /The 1995 Uganda Constitution The Children 5 Act and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child among others. Secondary materials included textbooks /articles and journals that ere relevant to the topic. And in the last chapter the research discussed the findings of the study, and the researcher also looked at recommendations that can be incorporated in the law to ensure its effectiveness in handling issues relating to juvenile delinquency in Uganda.
