| dc.description.abstract | Most of the studies was done on the causes, effects of forced displacement and the Rights of the IDPs and the weaknesses and strengths of the law to that effect. The Research stipulated the Ugandan Constitutional Fundamental Human Rights of the IDPs, other rights, Regional Vis-A-Vis international instruments concerning the protection of forced Displaced persons. The assessments and the relevance of the legal framework of the displaced persons due to wars and other natural calamities have been examined. Questionnaires, interviews, observation and library search were methods used in data collection. War being one of the causes of forced Displacement leading to the suffering, socio-economic regression of the IDPs caught my interest as an area wo1th of my research. The study made it clear that armed conflicts violate people's rights Viz, rights to life, health, property, education and other fundamental human rights entitlements. The Research findings indicated that armed conflict resulted into destruction of prope1ties, loss of lives, psychological, socio-economic infrastructural destruction, physical casualties and psychological trauma. The effects of the armed conflict was felt mostly by the poor villagers especially children and women. Conclusion is derived with the view that with time and space promotion of the Rights of the IDPs should be addressed urgently by all parties concerned. | en_US |
