Abstract
The study assessed the impact of urbanization on physical planning of Kampala Capital City in Uganda. The study was guided by the following specific objectives; to examine the causes of urbanization in Kampala Capital City Uganda, to examine the consequences of urbanization on physical planning of Kampala Capital City and to establish the strategies to minimize negative consequences of urbanization on physical planning of Kampala Capital City. This study was conducted from Nakawa Division-Kampala capital city of located near the shores of Lake Victoria and has a population of roughly 1.7 million (UBOS, 2008). The population included all residents in Nakawa Division with estimated total of 50,000 people but the study concentrated on KCCA officials totaling to 57 who were selected using simple random sampling and the respondents had adequate knowledge about the consequences of urbanization on physical planning of Kampala Capital City…
