dc.description.abstractDespite national and international policy for all schools to adopt inclusive education system, many schools still find it difficult to implement inclusive education. This is because of the many challenges surrounding its implementation. This research therefore, was intended to investigate the major problems hindering mainstream teaching and learning under inclusive education setting in schools. To get accurate and correct data, questionnaires and interviews were administere,I to total of sixteen respondents which included Head teachers, teachers and learners with special needs. The fi.nclings indicated that rejection by peer !earne_rs and teach~rs as the main challenge Lindcring implementation or inclu~ive education. However, the results of the study conducted ended up with a suggestion that training and retraining of teachers in the skills of handling learners under inclusive setting be regularly done and the sensitizations of peer learners, teachers, parents and the general stakeholders in education be conducted.en_US
