dc.description.abstractThe topic of the study was the hearing impairment and academic performance of learners a case study of selected primary schools in Kipsaraman zone, Kabartunjo district, Kenya. The study was guided with the following objectives; to examine the causes of hearing impairment among learners' academic performance in Kipsaraman zone, Kabartunjo district, Kenya, to determine the effects of hearing impairment of learners' academic performance in Kipsaraman zone, Kabartunjo district, Kenya and to suggest the interventions to hearing impairment of learners' academic performance on academic performance in Kipsaraman zone, Kabartunjo district, Kenya. The study was carried out in Kipsaraman zone, Kabartunjo district, Kenya. The research findings indicated that the majority of the respondents said there were acute causes of hearing impairment in learners' academic performance which included; Educational factors like inadequate instruction which prevents children from mastering the subject matter and the content of the study, educational factors like inadequate instruction which prevents children from mastering the subject matter and the content of the study, environmental factors which include external and internal factors. Adequate human resource should be availed, and where necessary ample training of education officers, support staff and partners on education policy and disability of children policy should be made through a facilitation of workshops, seminars, short courses within and outside the country concerning the girl child uplifting. Government should ensure strict and sufficient allocation of funds for the disabled children activities and control the misappropriation of funds/resources directed towards the uplifting of the girl child where if need be penalties for culprits of misappropriation be set. The responsible Community Based Organizations as well as government should intervene to guide and supervise effectively the coordination of disabled children activities to ensure that they don't err from the right paths.en_US
