| dc.description.abstract | The research topic was on the impact of strikes on the academic performance and the research was conducted in Naguru parish, Nakawa division-Uganda. The topic of the study was on the causes of moral decay in secondary schools. A total of 60 respondents took part in the study and these respondents included; twenty (20) students, twenty (20) teachers, fifteen (15) parents and (5) five head teachers who were selected to represent the entire population of approximately 800, 000 residents. The research was investigated by the research questions of the study. The first research question sought to find out the causes of moral decay among secondary school students in Naguru parish and the findings revealed that; parental irresponsibility, lack of moral advice in schools, peer influence, cultural diversities, and easy access to pornographic materials were the answers given by the respondents. The second research question sought to find out the effects of moral decay among secondary schools students in Naguru parish and the findings revealed that; schools dropout, poor class performance, early marriage, increase crime work rates, and poor future generation were the answers given by the respondents. The third research question then sought to find out the solutions to moral decay among secondary school students in Naguru parish and the findings revealed that; banning of pornographic materials, teach morals in schools, punish morally wrong students, parental responsibility and emphasize religious education in schools were the answers given by the respondents. Conclusions and recommendations were the made after interpreting and analyzing data. | en_US |
