dc.description.abstractThe study was about project procurement processes and project performance of CARE International and Save the Children in Hargeisa, Somaliland. The study examined the relationship between project procurement processes and project performance of these two selected International Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO5). The specific objectives of the study were to find out the extent to which project procurement processes is implemented among the selected International NGO5 in Hargeisa, Somaliland; evaluate the level of project performance among selected International NGOs in Hargeisa, Somaliland; establish the relationship between project procurement processes and the level of project performance among selected International NGOs in Hargeisa, Somaliland. The study used correlational research design on a population of CARE International and Save the Children staff. The study used a questionnaire for data collection. The data collected was analyzed using SPSS by using cross tabulation, frequencies and correlations analyses. The study found out that project procurement processes had a significant relationship with project performance. The study concluded that project procurement processes significantly contribute to project cost, quality and schedule performance and project managers who need to achieve desired levels of project cost, quality and schedule performance need to ensure that project procurement planning, supplier solicitation and selection processes, and contract management during project management need to be harnessed. The study recommended that international NGOs should always ensure that there is effective and adequate project procurement planning and implementation strategies, supplier solicitation and selection processes, and contract management to achieve the desired project costs, quality and schedule requirements. The study suggested other studies that need to be conducted to identify the effect to which donor demands and budget monitoring have on procurement processes of INGOs.en_US
