dc.description.abstract | In this study, the researcher studied reward system and employee performance in selected private telecommunication companies This study was guided by five objectives: (1)To determine the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of: Gender, Age, Educational level, Position in the organization, Number of years of experience.(2)To determine the extent of reward system (3) To determine the Level of employee performance.( 4)To determine if there is a significant relationship between the extent of reward and the level of employee performance. The Key finding from the study were:the profile of respondent were found that 77.2% of the respondents were male and 22.8% were female. This clearly shows that most employees at telecommunication companies are male. Also the result indicated that there were more male than female individuals working telecommunication companies in Mogadishu, 49.1% of the respondents belonged at the age of 31-40, 26.3% of the respondents are the age 20-30, 13.2% of the respondents are the age of above 50, and 11.4% of the respondents are the age 41-50. This finding suggested that the telecommunication staff were of diverse age groups. The diversity in age of the staff implies that the staff would have different values for their performance. Furthermore The result indicated that there is an uneven distribution among the respondents job position, more than 68.4% do not have any management position at all; 21.1% middle management; whereas only 10.5% work in top management. The findings also revealed that there was a significant relationship between the extent of reward system and the level of employee performance in selected private telecommunication companies in Mogadishu, Somalia; indicating that there was null hypothesis rejected; so that we can say that reward system can highly effect to the level of employee performance.it was concluded Overall of the respondents seem to appreciate reward management system of the companies. Regarding also the relationship between reward system and the level of performance the study revealed that reward system and the level of performance are significantly correlated. Finally, it was recommended that the telecommunication companies should design rewards in a way that encourage behavior that will contribute directly to the achievement of the organizations objective. | en_US |
