Abstract
Immunization is one attempt to protect the host against specific infections. It is therefore important to assess the knowledge and attitude of mothers towards immunization of children under five years in Kyabugimbi Health Centre IV. The study’s broad objective was to assess the knowledge and attitude of mothers towards immunization of children under five years in Kyabugimbi Health Centre IV which is located in Kyabugimbi Town (Bushenyi district). The objectives of the study were; to establish the reasons why most mothers don’t take their children for immunization, to establish the accessibility to immunization facility within the community and to determine taboos and cultural beliefs on immunization. Random sampling method was used to select the respondents, regardless of marital status, ethnicity, nationality, and educational back ground. At least 100 mothers were interviewed either at homes, antenatal clinic or at their work place and questionnaires were used.
