dc.description.abstractThe study looked at the effects of alternative disciplinary measures on students discipline after the ban on corporal punishment by the government of Kenya. Following the ban, cases of student's indiscipline appeared to be on the increase hence sparking off debate on the re - introduction of corporal punishment. fhe topic attracted considerable research due to the instances of drug abuse, truancy, defiance and delinquency slowly taking riot in the learning institutions. t has been noted with regret that discipline has been greatly compromised hence falling academic standards. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the disciplinary measures being used to manage students after the ban of corporal punishment. he instrument for the study will be questionnaire for Teachers and students and interviews scheduled for the head teachers The researcher hopeful that the research will be helpful to students, teachers and parents alike .. the researcher used both the descriptive and qualitative approaches to gather information from O.Ds; students, parents, teachers and the schools principles. The collected data was analyzed comprehensively in frequency distribution tables.en_US
