dc.description.abstractPerformance especially in the scientific world of Mathematics has just been but a night mare. Gone are the days when learners used to associate with Mathematics. The study began by looking at the problem of Mathematics performance in Nyakongo Zone in Kenya. There has been very dismal performance in Mathematics as an area of study, an issue that has caused the Education Office in Rachuonyo North District sleepless nights. The study examined he concept of performance with emphasis was on experimental design. The unit of analysis was the young learners in standard eight whose performance in Mathematics has not been any better. The study explored the repetition skill against as a strategy against academic performance where the control group was availed to help counter check the essence of the experiment. Study was carried on two schools which would actual represent the general view of the Zone as one of the schools was taken from the rural while the other was from urban end. The study revealed several findings one of which was that the boys have an age over the girls in performance trend when it comes to Mathematics, the study also revealed that the more the teaching strategy is repeated the better the results yielded and hence teachers should be encouraged to carry out remediation lessons after regular teaching. This would enhance concept mastery. It was inferred from the study that small group remedial activities yield better results. The teachers should use repetition method in teaching learners which was found to enhanceen_US
