dc.description.abstractThis study was carried out in Luanda division, Emuhaya district of Kenya to investigate on the prevalence of and challenges facing pupils with emotional and behavioral disorders in an inclusive setting. The following objectives were formulated to guide the study; to investigate the prevalence of pupils having emotional disorders, in selected inclusive primary schools, to examine the problems which these pupils face in inclusive learning setting and to assess the school based interventions for pupils with behavioral and emotional disorders. Respondents were picked at random to participate m the study where qualitative and quantitative methods were used. The findings revealed that on average number of pupils were unable to make friends at school and another average number was having relationship problems with their teachers and parents and were aggressive as well. Findings further revealed that there were another average number of pupils with hyperactivity, destructibility and some were immature in conduct. More pupils were always anxious and often depressed. It was also established that some of the pupils believed to be having emotional and behavioral disorder were experiencing academic problems such as; low academic grades. This however according to the respondents was questioned, since the scores for each response were equally distributed. This therefore showed answer average relationship between emotional and behavioral disorder with academic achievement. Also recommendations were made.en_US
