dc.description.abstract | The study was carried out to investigate the effect of HIV/aids on the performance of pupils in Apace district. The study specifically looked at stigmatization and performance, positive living and performance, absenteeism and performance and orphan hood and performance. The study was based no case study and the methods that was used for data collection were questionnaire, interview and observation while the instruments that was used for data collection were questionnaire, interview guide and observation checklist. The finding of the researcher was as below: 1. Stigmatization as a result of HIV/aids is affecting the performance of children in Apac district. 2. Positive living is affecting the performance of children in Apac district 3. 01phan hood as a result of HIV/aids is affecting the performance of pupils in Apac district 4. Absenteeism as a result of HIV/aids is affecting the performance of pupils in Apac district. Having come out with the findings, the researcher concluded that HIV/aids are affecting the studies of children in Apac district and to overcome the effect of HIV/aids on the performance of children, the researcher suggested the following recommendations. 1. School should start carrying out health education and implementing goverm11ent program like brought to create awareness on HIV/aids and fight aids related problems such stigmatization. 2. Clubs like HIV/aids clubs should be started in school to create awareness on HIV/aids. 3. Children living with HIV /aids should be counseled to restore hope in them m1d to make them to concentrate in studies. 4. Children suffe1ing from HIV/aids should be taken for medical treatment immediately they fall sick. If possible they should be put on treatment like septrin or ARV early enough. | en_US |
