The role of magazines in promoting tourism in Tanzania: case study Tantravel magazine Arusha, Tanzania

This research is about the role of magazines in promoting Tourism in Tanzania taking case study of tantravel, arusha as a study area. The general objective of this study was to determine whether magazines have any influence towards tourism development. While specific objectives of this study were to find out whether there is relationship between magazines and tourists both local and foreign, and to suggest possible measure that may be taken to improve magazines or tourism development approaches. The study has revealed that magazines have not contributed enough to the tourism's development for both local and international tourists. Therefore the study had suggested positive measure that can help to develop tourism in Tanzania. Study suggested that magazines should be distributed equally within the country so that everyone can access them, also Government should make sure that come with magazines that could help local tourists to understand the attractions available in their country by using Swahili language and other media such as radio and television since some of the citizens according to research had revealed that they don't know how to read and write.
