Abstract
The purpose of the study was to find out the impacts of using of instructional
technologies on students achievements in selected schools in Nkozi subcounty
Mpigi district, the main objective of the study were; to find out the
different forms and categories of instructional technologies used in the
teaching and learning processes also, to examine the impacts and benefits of
using instructional technologies in the teaching and learning process and lastly
to find out the challenges both teachers and students face in coping up with
the use of various instructional technology in the teaching and learning
process. Chapter one talks about the Quality of education in a global concern
virtually all societies, how it can be achieved, the efficiency and quality
teaching needs to be employed. Chapter two of the study focused on the
literature which was used for instructional technologies and student’s
achievement in the teaching and learning process. It highlights on a brief
history on instructional technologies, the meaning of instructional technology,
student’s achievements, categories of instructional technologies, the use of
instructional technologies in teaching and learning process, the availability and
use of instructional technologies, challenges facing teachers and students in
the use of instructional technologies. Chapter three highlights the Target
population of 2 secondary schools and used simple random sampling. Chapter
four was to analyze and establish the challenges faced by teachers and
students in the use of instructional technologies in teaching and learning
process in selected secondary schools in Mpigi district. Lastly chapter five was
to make a summary of the findings based on the objectives of the study and
make suggestions and recommendations for possible action and further
research. This chapter therefore, consists of three sections namely; the
summary of the findings, conclusion of the study and recommendations.
