Abstract
The study was carried out with the aim of finding out the income contribution of fish farming to households in Igara County-Bushenyi District. The data was collected using a questionnaire which was edited, coded, entered and cleaned using Epi-data and then was analyzed using the statistical package for social scientists. It was found out that fish farming is actually a source of income as it has opportu11ities for gain full employment. The industry provides the fish farmers with incomes and food proteins and this contributes to their social productive roles as they can afford to purchase goods and services. It was deducted that the survey results reflected and agreed that the fish farming sector has a significant impact on the incomes of the fish farmers in Igara County and Bushenyi District. As one of the recommendations the fish farmers in Bushenyi should strive and work hand in hand with the fisheries office and fish farmers association of Bushenyi so as to strengthen their bargaining power in their endeavours such as the acquisition and expansion of markets for their products.
