Abstract
This study was carried out to determine the leadership and conflict resolution in selected private universities, the study was guided by four objectives: To determine the demographic characteristics of the respondents, To find out the level of leadership in the selected private universities, to determine the level of conflict resolution in the selected private universities and to establish whether there is a relationship between the level of leadership and level of conflict resolution strategies in the selected private universities. The study was conducted through descriptive survey and correlational research design, quantitative approach was followed with the use of questionnaire and included 92 respondents from selected private universities in Mogadishu, Somalia. And the findings indicated that the whole organizations of the selected private universities were dominated by men. Showed that the level of leadership in the selected private universities is fair as the mean was 2.5 and indicated that the level of conflict resolution strategies in selected private universities is somehow fair as presented by the overall mean of 2.5, The researcher found through the study that leadership and conflict resolution strategies
of Selected private universities are significantly correlated, and the relationship between them is strong. The study recommended that the private universities should motivate their employees as well as train their employees in order to reduce conflict in the organization.
