dc.description.abstractThis study established the relationship between communication and performance of employees in three selected local governments, Lango sub region, northern Uganda. It was based on survey design; specifically descriptive correlation and descriptive comparative. The researcher used a self administered questionnaire to collect primary data from 183 employees, using stratified random sampling to reduce costs, time of doing research and to increase the degree of accuracy of the study. The study was based on five objectives: (I) to determine the profile of respondents in terms of age, gender, rank, income level, level of education and local government of service (ii) to determine the level of communication of in the three selected local Governments in Lango sub-region, northern Uganda, (iii) to determine the level of performance of employees in the three selected local governments in Lango Sub region, northern Uganda (iv) to establish whether there is a significant difference in the level of communication and level of employee performance in the three selected local governments in Lango sub-region in northern Uganda (v) to establish the relationship between communication and employee performance in Lango sub-region in northern Uganda. The study revealed that there was very high level of communication, the performance of employees in the three selected local governments in Lango sub-region, northern Uganda was also very high, there was no significant difference in the level of communication and performance of employees in the three selected local governments in Lango sub-region, northern Uganda; and there was a positive and significant relationship between communication and performance of employees in Lango sub-region, northern Uganda. The researcher recommended that: a) local governments in the three selected local governments in Lango sub region, Northern Uganda should clearly state their goals and communicate them to their employees; (b) take employees for refresher courses (c) introduce a system of giving employees fringe benefits as reward, and finally (d) create a positive and right attitude among employees.en_US
