The law requires that children are not supposed to be put in the same police or prison cells with the adults. This is provided by the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda 1995. Similarly juveniles are not supposed to be kept for long hours before they are produced to the courts of law for hearing. Juvenile delinquency Is against the law. This is because they cause a lot of inconvenience in the society and this leaves the society in unsecured state since most people will be in fear that their goods will be stolen and the bringing of the young children will be so hard because they are likely to cope up with the anti-socio behavior of the existing delinquents. The research sought to investigate the reason for the persistence of juvenile delinquency in Nakawa Division. The information was derived from oral interviews questionnaire that was distributed to the residents of Nakawa Division. The analysis from the research shows that the causes of juvenile delinquency are based on social-factors within Nakawa Division for example unemployment causes most parents to involve them selves in all sorts of activities including committing crimes so that they get money to support their family. In this respect therefore children will learn from their parents how to live hence adopting the same means to survive. Finally specialized research should be undertaken to delve further into the issue of juvenile delinquency and the research findings should be published and the recommendations forwarded to the government so that they can devise means of reducing crime rates among the juveniles in Nakawa Division.en_US
