Abstract
This research report contains five major chapters as follows: Chapter 1 Introduction; The research investigated effect of environment and academic performance of physical handicapped learners in regular school and suggests solutions to these problems under recommendations in chapter five. Chapter II. Review of Related Literature; the researcher reviewed related literature on the following sub headings:-Types of learners with physical handicap, orthopedically impaired, Neurological disabilities and those with health disabilities. Chapter II Methodology; The researcher used qualitative research approach for the study. This was appropriate as it clearly shows specific number of occurrences of variable that were investigated. Descriptive survey design was employed. The researcher used questionnaire to collect data from the teachers who interacted with the learners. Chapter 4~ Findings; From the data I I was found out by the researcher that the effect of environment on academic performance of the learners with physical handicap was due to lack of support from teachers, parents and peer. Negative attitude between the teachers and the learners, lack of appropriate education resources and lack of conducive environment for learning. Chapter: 5 Conclusions; the researcher concluded that the learners with physical handicap can perform well in academic work when the challenge facing them are addressed seriously especially by the government, teachers, parents and the community at large.
