Abstract
Guarantorship is a green area in Uganda which is not so common to many Ugandan people even
the ones in the banking sector. The reason behind is that the legal regime in Uganda focus most
on loan recovery mechanisms not necessarily Guarantorship. These methods do not give more
emphasis on guarantees and indeed the researcher undertook to find a viable way through this
trouble.
The researcher undertook to research around Kampala district because it is where most of the
banks are located and in fact all banks operating in Uganda have branches there.
I did research in banks that included Orient Bank, Cairo International Bank, Centenary Bank
among others
