Attachment and aggressive behavior among Somali adolescents in selected schools in Kampala, Uganda

The study determined Attachment and Aggressive behavior among Somali Adolescents in selected schools in Kampala, Uganda it was based on the following objectives which were to examine the demographic characteristics of the respondents as to, age and gender, to deterhilne the level of attachment among Somali Adolescents in Selected Schools in Kampala, Uganda, to determine the level of aggressive behavior among Somali Adolescents in Selected Schools inKampala, Uganda and to establish if there is a significant relationship between attachment and the level of aggressive behavior. The study employed the descriptive survey design specifically the descriptive correlation survey design. Descriptive studies were non-experimental researches that describe the characteristics of a particular individual, or of a group. It dealt with the relationship between variables, testing of hypothesis and development of generalizations and use of theories that had universal validity. The study employed a target population size for this study was 150 whereby using slovenes’ formula, the research sample size was 109 The research instrument designed by this study were questionnaire and interview the study concluded that Insecure attachment was hypothesized to predict higher levels of aggressive behavior, delinquent behavior, and attention problems, As expected, adolescents had higher rates of Aggressive behavior, however, there were no significant gender differences found in any of the Aggressive behaviors within the combined sample. The researcher made the following recommendations, Turn off the TV and video games, Reduce roughhousing. One way that aggressive behavior may be unintentionally, Avoid reinforcing aggression. Many parents unknowingly reinforce their child’s, Give your child time to calm down. Aggressive Adolescents seem to thrive on
