Abstract
This research was conducted to investigate factors that causes emotional and
behaviour disorder among leaner in inclusive setting at Sambut primary school Uasin
' '
Gishu west District, Rift valley Province in Kenya

The researcher used quantitative and qualitative approach in collecting data. The
researcher used documentary analysis type of qualitative approach to collect
information on performance of the sample population. He used questionnaires, a type
of quantitative approach to obtained information from the class teachers.
The researcher targeted 75 pupils who were E.B.D out of the total population of374
pupils. Out of the 75 pupils targeted for the study with the prevalence ofE.B.D in
classes 4,5,6,7 and 8, the researcher Zero in to a sample population of twenty-five
pupils.
On the findings, the researcher found out that the following E.B.D types are found
among the 75 pupils. These are hyperactivity, withdrawal and shyness, absenteeism,
short attention span, Rudeness, immoral behaviors, fighting among others.
These E.B.Ds are caused by family related factors, environmental factors, school
related factors, Teachers, attitude, cultural factors and social factors.
Researcher found out that E.B.D can be modified by guidance and counseling, ban of
phonographic pictures, videos, creating good environment at school, use of varied
teaching methods, improvement ofleisure's perfommnce, co-operation between
parents and teachers, use of role models from the environment to motivate and
encourage pupils to learn. Teachers should create rapport with the learners.
Finally, the researcher recommended that, there should be use of diversified teaching
methods in inclusive setting. Frequent class meetings comprising of subject teachers,
parents and learners be held. Phonographic pictures should be banned
