dc.description.abstract | This project is based on the study of the significance of the media in the educational implications of Acholi Oral Literature. The choice of this topic has been prompted by a strong desire to contribute through my research to the promotion of Acholi Oral Literature. IV This study attempts to define Oral Literature from the Acholi perspective and relates it to the definition by Nandwa and Bukenya of Oral Literature in their book "African Oral Literature". It also aims at identifying and classify the various kinds of Acholi Oral Literature, which includes riddles, proverbs, narratives, tongue-twisters, myths, legends and songs. In particular, the study strives to expose the love or courtship songs and funeral dirges of the Acholi. This involves interpreting and analyzing the songs collected during the field study of which they are later played on radios or shown on television programs. The study also endeavors to expose the rich values contained in Acholi Oral Literature through songs played on radio by the local Artists | en_US |
