dc.description.abstractThis study aims at identifying the challenges facing the independent media in Kenya. The study area was Nairobi Province which is Kenya's principal, economic, administrative and cultural center and one of the largest and fastest growing cities in the world. This population has been chosen purposely and specifically because of a relatively high levels of literacy, social status employment of the group of Kenya's elite which implies the existence of wages, salaries and consequently the highest broadcast and circulation number of each day's edition. This is because the population has the capability of owning television sets and has access to different challenges. Chapter one will intend to introduce the problem on the "challenges of the independent media in Kenya", to give objectives and the hypothesis of the study. This chapter will also indicate the significance of the study; this means that it indicates the aimĀ· and the target of this study. Chapter two will intend to show the literature review, how other people have written about the problem. The same chapter will also try to make a comparison of the views and opinions from different writers who have been writing and discussing about the problem of the challenges facing the independent media. Chapter three will intend to introduce the research methodology; this means that it will give out t the methods and tolls which were used in the study. Chapter four, attempts to summarize the main findings of the study. It will also analyze them scientifically in order to get good meaning. Possible solutions, conclusions and recommendation will appear on chapter five of this.en_US
