dc.description.abstractThe title of the study was the effect of contract management on service. The study was conducted in Amolatar district local government. The objectives of the study were to establish the relationship between accountability and service delivery; To determine how contract adminstration is conducted ; and To establish contract management practices. The resaercher used both questionaire and interview guide to collect primary data through face to face interaction. The resaercher alo used text books, internet, articles and news papers to collect secondary information. The resaercher used the sample size of 40. To collect data. Solven's formula was used to calculate the sample size. The findings of the study revealed that Relationship between contract management and service delivery were that 44% agreed, 13% were not sure, 42% disagreed. Development of appropriate contract management styles for every contract to ensure its success was presented on the table 17 and the responses were that the majority disagreed with 34.8% of respondents. Contract is well resourced by the organization both financially and with equipment were that the majority disagreed with 34.8%. Conlusion was that most of the respondents were accepting contact details on how contract adminstration was conducted in Amolatar district with 29% of the respondents. Most of the respondents disagreed to a larger extent on effective contractors management with greater percentage of 71 %. The most practices were performance management and contract completion practices which were commonly used. The resaecrher made recommended ; district should ensure that the guidelines are followed while managing contracts, they should explain their course of action to all the stakeholders; There is need for the district under the control of the procurement and disposal unit to have appropriate contract management tools to ensure proper implementation and accountability. There is also need for the district to ensure that all stakeholders take part and are satisfied with the outcome of the contract; this can be done through curing out stakeholders' analysis and contract transition planning that will well plan and execute processes which will ensure that expectations, roles and responsibilities are clear in the transition to contract management Finaly The district should come up with monitoring and evaluation committees to assess the compliance of service providors in contract awarded to them so as to promote good quality work and service delivery.en_US
