dc.description.abstractDemocracy in general can be referred to as the government by people or where power has been invested in the people. Thus, being considered as a factor necessitate the development of a country together economically, socially and more paramount politically. That is why scholars like lip hart consider it as a ground norm in regard to electoral system. While as when it comes to Uganda, democracy has not been appreciated provided the number of elections that have been held since the period it was declared an independent country. ie 1962 Lip-to-date in our recent elections of2016 the question therefore comes in, as democracy been put in observation in our Uganda's electoral process or it has been left out. This research will purposely be based on the electoral democracy in Uganda, assessing compliance and effectiveness with the electoral laws in Uganda. this research study is limited to electoral laws and practices in Uganda, current situation and reforms provided by Ugandan laws and the case study is concentrated on electoral process 200 I, 2006, 20 II, and the current elections of 2016 and the functions of the electoral commission in a right to vote as provided for by the electoral laws in Uganda.en_US
