| dc.description.abstract | The study sought to establish the relationship between local governance and public service delivery in Benadir region-Somalia. This study was guided by four specific objectives namely; i) to determine the demographic characteristics of respondent in terms of gender age, education qualification and years of experience, ii) to determine the level of local governance, iii) to determine the level of public service delivery, iv) To establish whether there is a significant relationship between local governance and public service delivery in Benadir region-Somalia. The research employed descriptive correlational design to describe the relationship between the variables. The findings revealed the following: dominated by respondents between 26-39years (62.7%), these were followed by those between 40-45years (23.6%). The researcher concluded that the level of local governance was generally high in Benadir region-Somalia, and the level of public service delivery was found to be generally high. Local governance and public service delivery are positive and significantly correlated, therefore concluding that high level of local governance increases the level of public service delivery in Benadir region administration-Somalia. The researcher recommended to the Central government of Somalia should ensure co-ordination, advocacy, collaboration and networking with the various development partners that include both international, intermediary, local NGOs, the private sector and also increased public/private partnership that offer more alternative and direct delivery of services. | en_US |
