dc.description.abstractThere is a strong correlation between socio-economic status and academic performance in Secondary Schools in Nzaui District-Kenya. This study investigated the socio-economic impacts of parents to academic performance in secondary schools in Nzaui District Eastern Province, Kenya. The study revealed that the common socio economic challenges that affects academic performance of students in secondary schools in Nzaui District, Kenya. Community sensitization is an appropriate measure for mitigating the challenges as well as government intervention Socio-economic status is the study of the relationship between economic activities and social life of people (En Wikipedia orglwiki social economic status 2kk) parental soclo-economic status directly affects the academic performance of learners. Parental socio-economic status directly affects the academic performance of children. Families enjoying high status are capable to provide their children the best available facilities Research methodology inculcates various sections that portray how the study is carried out. It presents the methods, techniques and procedures that were used in order to gather the required data. Data presentation and analysis was carried out by use of tables and graphs. A summary, conclusion and recommendations of the study show that the social-economic status of parents is partly responsible for the academic performance of students in school.en_US
