The study was investigating the factors leading to the transmission of HIV/ AIDS in Kapsokwony location Mt. Elgon district. What troubled me to carried out my study was the rate at which HIV virus was being transmitted in the location. A number of homes had been reduced to a state of poverty of which the orphans and windows were greatly affected. Sample size was about I 0,000 people covering an area of about 4 KMS in diameter. The location was mostly made up of the youths between 15 and 60 years of age. Doctors, teachers students and the non- organizations such as the World Vision was conducted to provide the most crucial information through which the HIV AIDS Virus was being spread in Kapsokwony location. Instruments such as the interview, questions and the observation methods were mostly used in the study. According to the findings of the study it was discovered that, the most affected people in the location are the youths who greatly involved in unprotected sex, through hetero sexual behavior, the means that played the fundamental role in the spread of HIV/ AIDS. Other methods includes mother to child transmission through breast milk and during delivery. Most of the AIDS victims were stigmatized the reason that made the major failed to seek for medication and counseling on time. Centers with sizeable population such as Kapsokwony, Kibuk and Kamtiong were mostly hitted with the HIV virus. In conclusion, AIDS is real and has claimed the lives of many without any discrimination between the young and the old. The disease pandemic and it only for a joint effort in order to curb it down.
