Abstract
The research study was undertaken to examine the effects of motivation on employee productivity in the private sector, a case study of Century Bottling Company, Namanve in Mukono district. The research was guided by; Examining the influence of motivation on employee productivity at century bottling company, Investigating the causes of low morale and motivation of employees at Century Bottling Company, Analyzing the expectations of employees from employers to enhance productivity at century bottling company and Examining the methods that managers at Century Bottling Company use to motivate their employees The main purpose of the study was to analyze what motivates employees to perform their best and enhance productivity at CBC. The population of 100 respondents was targeted for the study, however, according to the Krejcie & Morgan table of determining sample size; a total of 80 respondents was used for the study, which comprised of top-level managers, middle level managers, and workers at production units. A qualitative and quantitative study design was used. Data was collected using questionnaires, interviews and observation only. The questionnaire was used as an interview guide because some respondents were busy to read through the questions. Variables were measured in terms of dependent and independent variables.
