Abstract
The study was guided by the following research objectives; the first objective was to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of: age, gender, highest educational qualification, and rank in the university, position in the university and number of years in present position and the second and third objective was to determine the level of management style and the level of work performance in Mogadishu university and the fourth objective was the relationship between management style work performance in Mogadishu university. The study was conducted through descriptive survey and correlation research design by using quantitative approach with two parts questionnaire and 86 respondents was selected from Mogadishu University in Mogadishu Somalia. The study utilized descriptive statistics, frequencies and percentage; tables were used in the presentation of data. And also Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was applied to test correlation between management style and work performance in Mogadishu University. The researcher found that the management style and work performance in Mogadishu University are significantly correlated. Regarding the level of management style was good and the level of work performance was good with methods applied as indicated the means and standard deviations. The researcher recommended that the Mogadishu University should maintain total management processes which identifies the value of both institution and stakeholders and helps the university to motivate high performance and retain good employee.
