Abstract
This study looked at the impact of Kagadi Kibaale Community Radio 91.7FM (KKCR) on education in Kagadi town council of Kibaale district mid western Uganda. Specifically the study sought to assess the contribution of KKCR to the improvement of the quality of education in Kibaale district Empirical data on education obtained from respondents was analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively to critically examine the impact of KKCR on education The key findings of the study show that the KKCR has had a largely positive impact on educational standards. Education programmes aired on weekly basis with discussion of past papers have greatly improved students performance at all levels. The establishment of the radio in place has crested jobs to the indigenous and the non indigenous citing reporters, presenters editors, managers, correspondents, suppliers and others. The station has bridged the gap of information flow that existed before and it has played a role of mobilization at all aspects of development. The station has acted as hope to victims of rape, domestic violence and defilement through counseling radio programmes The researcher discovered that not all people in the area of study listen to KKCR despite the fact the radio station is near to them. Some of the recommendations by the researcher include the following; KKCR is a unique radio station compared to other stations in place therefore should be used as a training center on the issues concerning community radio broadcasting.
